Fluorescent Penetrant Dye Inspection (Penetrant Testing or PT) is a widely accepted inspection method used to detect surface cracks and defects in metals, ceramics and plastics. Penetrant Inspection will detect casting and forging defects, cracks and leakes in new products, and fatigue cracks on in-service components.

Since May 2007, Superior Joining Technologies has been approved to ASTM E 1417 Standard Practice for Liquid Penetrant Inspection, and received NADCAP Accreditation in July 2008.
